Common questions

  • Is credit repair legal?
Yes, though it depends entirely on the method. Challenging items on your credit report that you believe are inaccurate, misleading or unverifiable is lawful and is a right granted to you under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. What is not lawful is attempting to remove accurate information, or creating a new credit identity. We do neither.
  • Can a removed item come back onto my report later?
It is possible. A furnisher can re report an item if they subsequently verify it. We reduce that risk by contesting the procedure the original creditor used to report the account in the first place, rather than simply asking the bureau to look again, and our ongoing monitoring flags it if something you had removed reappears.
  • Can I get my credit report for free?
Yes. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act you are entitled to a free copy of your report from each of the three bureaus, on request, every year. If you do not have copies we will help you obtain them, but you never have to pay us to get them.
